Rollers and roller coatings as well as highly specialized elastomer molded parts are the products with which Westland develops diverse and reliable customer solutions. With constant specialization, high innovative strength and global orientation, Westland was able to rise to the top group of roller manufacturers worldwide. The group of companies employs 800 people at 14 production sites in 10 countries, 300 of them in the German plants.

Georg zur Nedden is the third generation to run the company with its headquarters in Melle-Westerhausen. "As a base, the Melle location offers not only an optimal infrastructure, but also connections to various universities with which we cooperate closely and from which we recruit our specialists," explains the owner.

Because rubber is not just rubber. Optimizing the material is one of the constant challenges. Since 2005, essential research, development and testing activities have been concentrated in a subsidiary, WEROS Technology GmbH.

In the after-sales market, the company also serves leading print shops around the world and manufactures rollers for demanding industrial applications. “You have to love rollers,” says Georg zur Nedden. “This is not a one-way product.” Once they have done their job, they come back to Westland and are given a general overhaul.

The know-how of the employees is therefore the company's greatest asset. Despite strong internationalization, Westland has remained a family business.

“We have set a high quality policy in our corporate goals, from which our long-term business relationships have grown”, adds zur Nedden. "From this established position, we want to work for new groups of customers and their tasks."
