Revolutionary Degassing and Decontamination Technologies Open Up Expanded Application Possibilities
The MRS extrusion technology from Gneuss enables the processing of contaminated materials such as PET, PS, PP, and PE. Combined with Gneuss Rotary Filtration Systems, vacuum technology, an online viscometer (VIS), and measurement technology, customized recycling systems can be realized. Optionally, the material can be fed into the extruder via a 3C rotary feeder.
Multiple Letters of Non-Objection (LNOs) from US-American food & safety authorities, EFSA compliance, and local approvals in Latin America confirm the decontamination efficiency of the technology. OMNI recycling systems process PET residues such as bottles, films, or fiber waste into high-quality end products such as food-grade thermoforming films, staple fibers, POY, FDY, BCF, or strapping tapes. Materials such as PS, PP, PE, and PLA can also be recycled. The systems are used for the decontamination of post-consumer waste for the production of food-grade products such as HDPE bottle caps and coffee capsules, as well as for odor reduction and degassing of PA, SAN, and other polymers.
In addition to their compact design, which allows for easy integration into existing spaces, the OMNI system impresses with its flexibility. The fully automatic control of vacuum, extruder, dosing, degassing residence time, and filter change ensures consistently high product quality and allows the use of cost-effective raw materials. This is particularly important in a fluctuating material market.
The low energy consumption due to the compact design of the systems and the reuse of the energy used in the extrusion process significantly reduce the electricity and gas consumption as well as the CO2 footprint of the recycling process.
