The DRD drying and cleaning machine by MAS is among the finalists for the PRSE Award in Amsterdam. It represents an innovation in recycling machinery that enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of plastic recycling processes.

MAS's DRD drying and cleaning machine provides an effective solution for drying and cleaning plastics. The plastic material is drawn into a cylindrical chamber through a specially designed rotor and set into rotation. Meanwhile, warm air ensures ideal drying and cleaning through turbulent airflows.
Contaminants such as sand, soil, and fine particles are separated by sieves, while heavier particles like small stones, wires, or metal pieces are removed by a heavy material separator. A subsequent second cleaning stage removes remaining fine dust particles without a heating element, increasing the energy efficiency and throughput of the process.
Both cleaning stages are perfectly coordinated and run in parallel. The second cleaning stage can optionally be omitted for moist material with low contamination. The system control is fully automatic.

Depending on the degree and type of contamination, the DRD system can be used independently or as a pre-or post-cleaning stage to optimize (wet) washing plants.
With minimal financial investment and low space requirements, the dry cleaning machine offers maximum effectiveness and quick amortization. The simple operation allows for easy integration into existing processes. Additionally, a defined moisture level can be set via a batch process.
By cleaning the input material, the wear and maintenance effort of the downstream equipment is reduced, thereby increasing its lifespan.
