Kampf GmbH expands Wiehl site for the future.
Kampf GmbH, a leading partner for slitting and winding technology and a member of the international Jagenberg Group, is undertaking a major expansion of its headquarters in Wiehl, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. Kampf’s Customer Experience Center and Logistics Center, both now under construction, will give tangible expression to the company’s unconditional customer focus. The foundation stone for the new buildings was laid in October 2024.
The future of customer orientation: THE LINQ
Under the name “THE LINQ—Home of Slitting and Winding by Kampf,” Kampf GmbH is creating a 3,000 m2 Customer Experience Center that will focus on the slitting and winding technologies of the world market leader in the field. Jointly with its customers, the company will develop innovative products in the area of roll-to-roll processes and expand its existing technologies. The declared aim of THE LINQ is to optimize customer value and set new standards for the customer experience.
Accordingly, the new Customer Experience Center will offer a demo area with a 1,500 m2 machine park for the demonstration of processes and technologies and the testing of applications and materials. “THE LINQ will be a place where connections to the future are forged,” says Markus Vollmer, Chief Executive Officer of Kampf GmbH. “It’s an integral part of our strategic direction for the future. An unconditional customer focus and excellent business processes are fundamental to continually expanding our market position.”
In addition to the technical facilities, the new building complex will feature a dialogue center offering space for conferences, training courses, and exchange with partners, customers, and employees. It will also include a modern cafeteria. Construction of THE LINQ began in October 2024. The technical facilities are expected to go into operation in late 2025 and the dialogue center is scheduled for completion in early 2026.
Prioritizing customer needs and supply chains: the new Logistics Center
The additional construction of the Logistics Center will not only increase Kampf’s existing storage capacities, but also improve internal flows of goods and associated processes and increase the volumes that can be handled. This will enable the slitting and winding technology specialist to provide spare parts significantly faster and respond to customer orders more flexibly.
Customers and partners will benefit from noticeably more efficient collaboration, which will be ensured by advanced logistics technologies. State-of-the-art technology with connections to intelligent IT systems will distinguish the 2,500 m2 warehouse. “The new Logistics Center will allow us to meet our customers’ needs even faster and more flexibly than before,” says Dr. Benedikt Sitte, Chief Operating Officer of Kampf GmbH. “With these tailor-made technical and logistical solutions, we are investing sustainably in a secure global production process and strengthening our relationships with our customers.”
Building work on the new Logistics Center began in October 2024. Kampf estimates a total construction time of around two years.
